From March 2017 to February 2018, the University of Milan, Italy, will hold a “Master Course” for an international audience of clinical oncologists interested in advancing their skills on rare adult solid cancers. The course will be entirely in English. It is organized in collaboration with the European School of Oncology (ESO), under the auspices of Rare Cancers Europe (RCE). At the end of the course, the attendees will receive an academic Master degree of the University of Milan, along with corresponding ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System).

The subject will be the practice of clinical oncology pertaining to all the 10 “families” of rare cancers:

• sarcomas
• head&neck cancers
• mesothelioma & thymoma
• CNS tumors
• neuroendocrine tumors
• endocrine tumors
• rare gynecologic cancers
• rare digestive cancers
• rare urogenital cancers
• rare skin cancers and non-cutaneous melanoma

This Master course will start in March 2017 with nearly 3 months of daily lessons which will be held in Milan, Italy, on the general issues of rare cancers and all the 10 families of rare adult solid cancers. Then, each attendant will spend 6 months choosing from 1 to 6 cancer institutions (in Amsterdam, Lyon, London, Leuven, Milan, Paris-Villejuif, Pisa, Torino, Zurich) where he/she will be able to train on the same cancers (thus with clinical training periods lasting from 1 to 6 months each, selected by the attendees depending on the rare cancers he/she wants to specialize in).

The registration fee will be € 5,000 and will include also free registrations to the ESO-ESMO Masterclass in Clinical Oncology, the ESO-ESMO Clinical Update on Rare Adult Solid Cancers and another educational ESO course.

The deadline for applications is 1 February 2017. Applicants will be selected on the basis of their CV and an interview to be held in Milan on 13-14 February 2017.
