Mr Guidubaldo Querci della Rovere graduated in Medicine at Padua University in 1971 and obtained a diploma of specialist in General Surgery at the same University in 1976. In 1976-77 he won a scholarship of The International Rotary Foundation and spent a year at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London. In 1978, after a brief return to Italy, he decided to move to England permanently where he worked as a registrar, mainly at the Royal Marsden Hospital.
In 1987 he was appointed Clinical Assistant to the first Breast Screening Unit created in the United Kingdom, at St Margaret's Hospital, Epping, Essex.
He was appointed Consultant Surgeon to The Royal Marsden Hospital in 1994.
His main field of activity was the diagnosis and surgical management of breast cancer with particular interest in plastic and reconstructive surgery of the breast.
He was also past President and Founding Member of The Italian Medical Society of Great Britain.
In 2002 he was awarded by the President of the Italian Republic the honours of  Commendatore dell'Ordine al Merito della Republica Italiana (OMRI).
He died on July 14th, 2009 after a long illness, bravely borne.
