The ESO College is delighted to host its first-ever College Convention in Budapest from 29–31 August 2025.

This exciting event is a unique opportunity to reconnect with colleagues you have met at past ESO events, expand your professional network, and gain valuable career insights. Whether you are looking to strengthen existing relationships or create new connections, the Convention aims to provide you with an opportunity to engage with like-minded professionals who share your passion for oncology.

We are also certain this event will be an enriching experience where you will learn, collaborate, and enjoy being part of the ESO oncology community. Through engaging discussions, interactive sessions, and social activities, we aim to create a strong connection and shared purpose within the European School of Oncology.

Participants Directory
Before the event, participants will receive a comprehensive participants directory, allowing you to view and connect with fellow attendees in advance. This will help you make the most of networking opportunities and start building connections before the Convention begins.

Information

OFFICIAL LANGUAGE

The official language will be English. No translation will be available.

VENUE

The Convention will be held at: National Institute of Oncology (Ráth György u. 7-9, 1122, Budapest)

PARTICIPATION

Attendance is limited to 100 participants and admittance is on a first come, first served basis. Participants must be members of the ESO College to be able to register.

A registration fee of 50 euros is requested to confirm your place at the Convention.

The registration fee grants you:

  • Access to the event’s activities
  • Access to the Participants Directory
  • Accommodation for 2 nights at the event hotel: Mercure Budapest Castel Hill Hotel
    (arrival on Friday, 29 August and departure on Sunday 31 August 2025)
  • Meals according to the programme (including the dinner cruise)
  • Access to the optional activities

The fee does not cover travel costs, these should be organized and paid by the participant. Accompanying persons will not be accepted.

The registration fee for this event is a small contribution towards the cost for organising it, therefore it will not be refunded if a participant withdraws or is unable to attend, for whatever reason.

OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES
  • Friday 29 August
    Welcome drink and Aperitivo from 19:30 – 21:30 at the Convention hotel - reservation must be made in advance

  • Saturday 30 August
    Early bird walking tour – start the day the with a brisk walk to the nearby Fisherman’s Bastion and enjoy some local facts with our guide. Leaving the hotel at 7:00 and returning by 8:00 - reservation must be made in advance (limited availability)
    Dinner Cruise on the Danube – Conclude the Convention with a group dinner whilst cruising    along the Danube - reservation must be made in advance
  • Sunday 31 August
    Take part in an extra meeting on The Role of Media in Oncology: hosted by Oncodaily & CancerWorld being held from 09:00 – 11:00 at the Convention hotel - reservation must be made in advance.
INSURANCE

The organisers bear no responsibility for untoward events in relation to the participation in the event. Participants are advised to take out their own personal and travel insurance coverage.

Attendance is limited to 100 participants and admittance is on a first come, first served basis. Participants must be members of the ESO College to be able to register.

Registration will open on 1 April and close on 30 April

HOW TO REGISTER

Interested College members should register online (at the top of this page).

During the registration process you will need to:

  • Check we have the correct work details and professional data for you in our system as these will be published in the Participants Directory
  • Select the optional activities in which you would like to participate during the Convention
  • Select the workshops in which you would like to take part (maximum 3)
  • Insert the details you would like to be published in the Participants Directory
  • Upload the photo of yourself to be published in the Participants Directory

Once registered, participants will receive a confirmation email with details on how to pay the registration fee.

By registering to the event, you agree to share your details with the other participants for networking purposes.
