Description
Oncology patients with advanced disease often present multiple symptoms and psychosocial needs. The knowledge base related to pain, symptom control and palliative care in general is rapidly increasing. The objective of this course is to give a clinical and scientifically based update on these important problems and to give a brief insight into issues around communication, ethics and development of palliative care in an European perspective.
GRANT INFORMATION
There will be the possibility of study visits in palliative care units in the Stockholm area for five days after the course.
The following grants will be available:
- 10 full grants including study visits after the course = up to 700€ + free registration
- 15 course grants = up to 300€ + free registration

- Letter describing motivation for attending (please specify which type of grant you are applying for);
- Curriculum Vitae (with list of publications);
- Supporting letter from Head of Department / Mentor.
The grants will guarantee free registration to the course and will entitle you to reimbursement for your travel and accommodation expenses of up to 700€ or 300€ according to the grant you have received. All reimbursements will be settled after the course upon receipt of all the original receipts. Further details will be communicated to the grantees. The selection will be based on the quality of the application as well as a telephone interview in English.

Official language
The official language of the course will be English. No simultaneous translation will be provided.
Certificates
All participants will be issued with a certificate of attendance at the close of the course and will also be entitled to European CME credits.
Badge
The badge is the only official evidence of registration and should be worn at all times during the course. Loss of badge means loss of registration.
Insurance
The organisers bear no responsibility for untoward events in connection with, before, during and after the course. Participants are strongly advised to take out their own personal and travel insurance coverage.
