INTRODUCTION

The 2nd Masterclass in Oncology Nursing is specifically designed to meet the educational needs of cancer nurses from Eastern Europe and the Balkan region and facilitate the interaction. Simultaneous translation will be provided in Serbian-Croatian-Bosnian.
Three intensive days of full immersion in up-to-date cancer nursing will create a collective spirit of teaching and learning to improving clinical skills and patient care.

The sessions are specific nursing-oriented sessions exploring specialist knowledge around cancer and lifestyle, emergency oncology and supportive care. Also sessions focusing on practice skills such as team communication and safety, research in nursing, psychosocial consequences of cancer therapy to mention a few.
Other sessions will provide the forum for reviewing and understanding the growing evidence base for nursing interventions and reflect on participant’s role in clinical leadership. Case studies related to topics from the course, will be discussed and explore nursing practice focusing on special aspects of care.

Some of the session will be more clinical about the latest issues for the treatment and care in radiotherapy, chemotherapy, targeted therapies and immunotherapy, management of various cancers, with an international faculty of experts.
The number of participants will be limited and admission will be by competitive application only.
Admitted participants will be granted free registration and full-board accommodation for the duration of the Masterclass. A maximum amount of 200 Euro will be available as a contribution for travel support to participants coming from outside the Belgrade area. Participants will reside at the course venue and participation is compulsory throughout the course.

• Describe the role of the advanced oncology nurse in leading clinical nursing care
