CANCELLED: ESO-ESGO-ENYGO Course on Pathology of Gynaecological Tumors

INTRODUCTION

The ESO-ESGO-ENYGO Course on pathology of gynaecological tumours has been designed for pathologists, gynecological oncologists and medical oncologists, with the aim to provide an update on the State of-the art diagnostics as well as an overview of the latest advances in the field of gynaecological oncology.

Moreover, spotlight lectures will cover specific issues related to particular situations such as diagnostic dilemmas in challenging cases.

Practical training will be offered in the frame of „tumour board“ sessions in a mode of case presentations, prepared and presented by participants and discussed with the faculty.

• Update on the latest advances in diagnostic procedures in gynaecological cancers
• Improve practical skills in solving diagnostic dilemas/problems and setting the best diagnosis and treatment for gynaecological cancer patients
• Update on the latest advances and on the state-of- the-art treatment options
• Debate on controversies and challenges in gynaecological cancer diagnostics and treatment
• Learn about the management of specific situation

CME ACCREDITATION AND CERTIFICATE
Application for CME recognition has been submitted to the Accreditation Council of Oncology in Europe (ACOE) and to the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME), an institution of the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS).
EACCME credits are recognised by the American Medical Association towards the Physician’s Recognition Award (PRA).

ESCO CREDITS

Being selected to take part in this ESO actvity gives participants eligibility to enrol in ESCO - the College of the European School of Oncology. It also enables ESCO students to earn ESCO credits and therefore access more ESCO benefits. Full and active participation in this course earns participants 9 ESCO credits. Admittance to the course is by competitive application.

- The fee for successful applicants is 120€
- Selected participants coming from low-middle-income Countries (as defined by the World Bank) will have to cover a discounted fee of 80€

Non-local participants will be offered accommodation for the period 17-19 November 2021. Travel will be covered by participants.

Applications made as a team from the same institute - i.e. at least two members: pathologist  and surgeon, pathologist and medical oncologist, pathologist and radiotherapist etc. - to promote multisdiciplinarity are welcome.

Full participation is compulsory throughout the course for all participants.

The course will be entirely in English and fluency in English is necessary for admission.

HOW TO APPLY

• Letter describing motivation for attending the event– please mention here if you are participating with a team member and add their name
• Short CV – complete template provided
• Supporting letter from Head of Department/Mentor
• Abstract (complete template provided) with proposed presentation of a pathological case relating to one of the main themes of the course:
  • Cervix
  • Endometrial
  • Ovary

The abstract should be presented in the form of a brief case discussion and describe:

• Diagnostic considerations
• Treatment
• Outcome (follow-up)
• Up to three questions that the author proposes for discussion by the faculty and participants

Free registration will be awarded to 10 ESCO members (Students, Fellows & Graduates) based on their ESCO profile.
