This comprehensive course empowers medical professionals with the tools and techniques to deliver impactful and memorable presentations at medical congresses. Whether you are a seasoned presenter or new to the stage, this course will guide you through the nuances of effective communication, ensuring your research and insights resonate with your audience. From mastering the art of engaging presentations to confidently handling audience questions and presenting compelling posters, this course will help you stand out and make a lasting impression at medical conferences, PhD discussions, etc.
COURSE OVERVIEW
The course is a structured, four-module program to transform medical professionals into dynamic and compelling presenters. This course offers theoretical knowledge and practical application, ensuring participants can confidently share their research and insights with the medical community.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
The course's primary aim will be to equip medical professionals with the skills to deliver engaging, clear, and impactful presentations at medical congresses. By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
  1. Understand and Apply Presentation Fundamentals. Recognise the critical elements that constitute an effective presentation and structure presentations logically to ensure clarity and coherence;
  2. Engage and Maintain Audience Attention. Utilise storytelling and interactive elements to capture and sustain audience interest and employ effective body language, vocal delivery, and multimedia tools to enhance engagement;
  3. Manage Audience Questions Professionally. Anticipate and prepare for potential questions, ensuring smooth Q&A sessions and handling complicated or unexpected questions confidently and diplomatically;
  4. Design and Present Research Posters Effectively. Create visually appealing and informative research posters and interact with viewers during poster sessions to effectively communicate key findings.
  5. Through a combination of lectures, practical exercises, and interactive sessions, participants will develop the confidence and skills necessary to excel in any presentation setting within the medical field.
COURSE DELIVERY
This online course will be delivered through pre-recorded lectures available on demand.
PREREQUISITES
This course has no strict prerequisites. However, a basic understanding of methodological terminology and familiarity with scientific research concepts would be beneficial.
CONCLUSIONS
The course equips medical professionals with essential skills to excel in presentation. By mastering the fundamentals of effective presentation design and delivery, engaging the audience through dynamic techniques, and confidently handling audience questions, participants will be prepared to impact medical congresses significantly. Additionally, the course provides comprehensive guidance on presenting research posters, ensuring participants can communicate their findings clearly and professionally.
 
ACCREDITATION
Participants will be issued a certificate of attendance (minimum attendance: 75%). An online evaluation questionnaire and learning assessment test will need to be completed in order to get the certificate that will be sent by email.
Application for CME recognition has been submitted to the Accreditation Council of Oncology in Europe (ACOE) and 2 CME credits have been granted to this event. The American Medical Association (AMA) and the Accreditation Council for Continuous Medical Education (ACCME) designate this type of educational activity for a maximum of 1 AMA PRA category 1 credits per hour of activity.
CME credits will be provided until 03.05.2027.

SPECIAL OPPORTUNITY 
Deadline: 28 September 2025
Requirements: Completion of the online course and one of the top five grades during the respective learning test.
On 28 September 2025, 5 students who have completed the online course with the highest exam grade will be invited to participate in an additional activity dedicated to presentation skills with Experts in the field who will make themselves available for two dedicated online meetings organised by ESO.
