Programme description

St. Vincent’s University Hospital is the only National Centre in Ireland for pancreatic cancer. As such, therefore, it provides the full range of multidisciplinary care involved in the management of patients presenting with pancreatic cancer and trainees will also be exposed to liver resection as part of working in this unit. A total of 290 pancreatic cancers were seen in 2010, over 100 pancreatic resections were carried out and a similar number of hepatic resections were performed in this time period.
