Programme description
Our Unit treats kidney, bladder, prostate, testicular and rare urological cancers. Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) Meetings, in which you will participate, are held once per week. During these meetings diagnosis and treatment of presented cases are discussed and pre- and post-operative care is determined. The urologic oncology unit registers more than 1400 patients a year, many of whom come for primary disease management. Alternatively, patients come for a second opinion regarding further therapy.
During the observership you will learn about diagnosis and treatment of urological tumors, in cooperation with our highly skilled radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, urological surgeons and also pathologysts. Participants will be an active part in the multidisciplinary outpatient clinic with medical oncology, the tumor boards and the daily work on the ward. Additionally, participants will gain an insight into the ongoing clinical trials investigating novel treatment options.
The team is highly dedicated to achieving the best outcomes for its patients in the available panel of options of diagnosis and treatment. Special emphasis is placed on trying to ensure the very best standard of care, while in parallel respecting patients’ preferences and pertaining to high quality of patient’s life.
