Chairs: Matteo Lambertini, IT & Marco Tagliamento, IT

Introduction
CCI4EU (Comprehensive Cancer Infrastructures for the European Union) is a European project aiming to help Member States and Associated Countries improve or develop their existing or future Comprehensive Cancer Infrastructures (CCIs), by helping develop their research & innovation-related capacities.

This course is the ninth of 10 online training courses organised within the project to help countries develop an effective comprehensive infrastructure and widen the reach of this grant. The topic of this online course is: Developing research skills for young researchers (special opportunity: Call for Study Proposals- please see details below).

The aim is to provide useful information and advice to young colleagues on how to develop a research project and a career as a researcher in oncology. International-level mentors will take part in the live portion of the course, with whom there will be an opportunity to interact by asking questions and proposing your own research idea.

Target audience
Researchers, young researchers, physicians/clinicians as well as any personnel at hospital/clinics/CCIs or patient advocates who are interested in research,

The first part of this course was made available on this website on 31 July 2025

The second part of this online course was held live on 25 September 2025 via this webpage.

Call for study proposals: the second (live) portion of the course consisted of four case study presentations:
-two propsals on clinical research
-two proposals on translational studies.

The clinical research and the translational study proposals were focused on the field of medical oncology for solid tumors, and include background and rationale, objectives and endpoints, methods, as well as at least a preliminary statistical plan. Innovativeness, feasibility, and overall quality have been evaluated. The selected case Presenters have received feedback from mentors on both the project idea as well as their presentation skills.
