Visiting Residency and Visiting Observership
Language requirements
For visiting observership status, a good level of German language skills (B1-2) is mandatory in order to follow communication between physicians and patients as well as discussions in tumour boards and recommendations. Fluent English
Other requirements
For visiting residency status a minimum of intermediate level C1 in German is required (to be approved by the Regional Administrative Council / Supreme Health Authority of the German State of Hamburg). Fluent English

Programme description

More than 2,600 patients with various urological malignancies are diagnosed and treated annually at the (overall) 5 treatment sites of the Asklepios Tumorzentrum Hamburg. The centre offers the full spectrum of diagnostic and therapeutic options for patients with all urological malignancies.
Key disciplines are high-volume surgery, including open, laparascopic and robotic surgery. Focus is on major bladder and kidney cancer surgery. In addition to surgery, a large number of endo-urologic procedures and interventional procedures, as well as radiation oncology treatmens, are frequently performed. A specific focus is on innovative diagnostic and therapeutic options in medical treatment.
Sites involved in this programme are on Campus Altona, Campus Barmbek, Campus Harburg and Campus St. Georg.
