ESO College members progress through three levels, designed to support and celebrate your professional development.
The only entry requirement is that you must have participated in one of ESO’s competitive application activities — either in the last 10 years or going forward.
ESO College Student
The first level in the ESO College journey is ESO College Student, which is attained by applying for and being accepted into one of ESO’s competitive application activities.
Eligible activities include:
- ESO Masterclasses
- ESO Refresher Courses
- Clinical Training Centre Fellowships
- Postgraduate Programmes: Certificates of Competence and Advanced Studies (e.g. Lymphoma, Lung, Breast Cancer).
As an ESO College Student, participants are encouraged to continue their learning journey by taking part in a Masterclass and at least two Refresher Courses, in order to progress to the next level.
ESO College Fellow
This level is awarded upon completing an eligible ESO activity and earning 100 ESO College credits.
Credits can be earned by:
- Participating in additional ESO educational activities.
- Passing approved oncology examinations.
- Publishing papers, articles or studies in scientific journals.
- Being selected for conference contributions (presentations, poster sessions, abstracts).

To progress, Fellows are encouraged to complete a Clinical Training Centre Fellowship and/or one of ESO’s Certificates of Competence or Advanced Study.
ESO College Graduate
This level is awarded upon earning 500 College credits, through the same credit activities as above.
Graduates are encouraged to take part in the Improving Cancer Outcomes and Leadership course, preparing them for future leadership roles.
Final graduation from the ESO College may lead to joining the ESO College Faculty, beginning with involvement in ESO Faculty and other contributions to the educational community.
