Centre Antoine Lacassagne (CAL), founded in 1961, is one of the 18 Comprehensive Cancer Centres (Centres de Lutte Contre le Cancer, CLCC) of the UNICANCER network — a national federation of institutions exclusively dedicated to oncology. As a Private Non-Profit Hospital of Public Interest (ESPIC), CAL treats the full spectrum of malignant diseases and manages more than 6,300 patients annually, ensuring equitable access to care within the French national health insurance framework. The centre is ranked among the world’s top 100 oncology hospitals (Newsweek, 2021) and holds one of the most comprehensive radiotherapy and medical imaging platforms in Europe.
CLIP2 Label — INCa (2024–2029): In 2024, the Institut National du Cancer (INCa) awarded CAL the CLIP2 label (Centre Labelisé INCa Phase Précoce) for a period of five years, formally recognising its infrastructure and expertise in the conduct of early-phase (Phase I/II) clinical trials across all tumour types.
