Introduction
We are delighted to introduce a comprehensive educational programme designed for young oncologists eager to enhance their expertise and refine practical skills. Oncology is an ever-evolving field, requiring continuous learning and adaptation, and this course provides both scientific depth and practical application.
Venue
- Part 1 - online lectures
- Part 2 - live and live-streamed from Kyiv, Ukraine
Course Overview
The programme consists of four key modules, all of which will initially be presented in an online format to ensure accessibility and flexibility. Each module will later be discussed and expanded upon in offline session that will be streamed live from Kyiv, allowing for deeper interaction and case-based learning.
- Radiological Diagnostics – Master advanced imaging techniques, develop the ability to differentiate complex cases, and apply radiology tools for cancer detection and treatment planning.
- Endoscopy – Learn essential endoscopic procedures for cancer diagnostics and decision making. Improve knowledge on how surgery may solve discordant scenarios.
- Pathology – Understand the pathomorphological features of cancer, explore biomarkers, and refine diagnostic accuracy to guide personalized treatment strategies.
- Decision making, communication and resources – Beyond clinical expertise, effective communication, empathy, and teamwork are fundamental in oncology. This module focuses on essential interpersonal skills that enhance patient care and professional collaboration.
With a hybrid learning approach, participants will gain strong theoretical knowledge through online sessions, followed by live steamed discussions to solidify concepts and explore real-world cases in a collaborative environment.
This programme is more than an educational opportunity – it is a chance to connect, exchange insights, and build a network of dedicated oncologists. We look forward to growing and learning together in this dynamic and enriching course!
Course Delivery
This course will be delivered in two parts:
- Part 1: A series of pre-recorded lectures will be available on the e-ESO platform starting from September 1, 2025
- Part 2: A live and live-streamed event will take place on October 23, 2025, from 10:00 to 17:30 (CEST)
The programme includes lectures and roundtable discussions led by renowned international experts. Participants will have the opportunity to engage directly and ask questions during the live-streamed event.
To access the course, participants must register and log in to the e-ESO platform.
Participation
All participants should register for online access to Parts 1 and 2 of the course via the link on the right-hand side of this page.
Case Presentations
During Part 2, participants will have the opportunity to present and discuss cases with the Faculty on topics such as Radiological Diagnostics, Endoscopy in Oncology, Pathology, or Decision making, communication and resources. Interested participants should send an email announcing their willingness to present a case to azampetti@eso.net by September 25th. Cases will be reviewed, and selections made 10 days after the deadline.
ESO College
The course also enables members of the ESO College to earn credits and therefore access more membership benefits. Full and active participation in the course earns participants 3 ESO College credits.
Registration
Registration to the course is free but mandatory. Registration will be confirmed by e-mail.
