Course Overview
This Multidisciplinary Masterclass in Oncology is an intensive, practice-oriented course designed for specialists involved in oncology with 2–3 years of experience, such as:
The programme has been structured around learning outcomes drawn from published international curricula across all oncology-related specialties. Sessions are aligned with globally recognised educational frameworks, ensuring relevance and consistency for all oncology professionals. It is designed to strengthen their skills in the multidisciplinary management of cancer, while promoting international collaboration and knowledge exchange.
Course Format
The Masterclass is divided into two complementary parts:
Part 1 – Online Lectures
Available from 21 September 2026
Participants will access pre-recorded lectures. This allows flexible, self-paced preparation ahead of the in-person sessions.
Part 2 – In-Person Event
6-10 November 2026
A 3.5-day residential-style course that fosters active discussion and network-building, offering direct access to experienced faculty in a collaborative and informal environment.
The Masterclass features:
- Plenary lectures: State-of-the-art treatments presented by renowned international faculty, with reference to the latest clinical guidelines
- Multidisciplinary interactive discussions: Engaging sessions where participants and experts from different oncology specialties collaborate and exchange perspectives
- Interactive workshops: Focused on real-world practice and decision-making
- Tumour board simulation: Each participant presents and discusses a clinical case with a panel of top experts. In addition, parallel breakout sessions allow smaller groups to present and discuss individual cases
Language
The course will be conducted entirely in English.
Fluency in English is a requirement for admission. Translation is not provided.
Registration Fee
The course will take place at the San Servolo, Venice, Italy.
A registration fee of 250 EUR will be requested.
The fee covers:
- Access to all educational sessions and course materials
- 4 nights’ accommodation
- Meals as outlined in the official programme
- Travel costs are not covered and must be arranged independently.
ESO College members receive a 50% discount on the registration fee.
The fee is a non-refundable contribution towards organisational costs and will not be reimbursed in the case of withdrawal or non-attendance, regardless of the reason.
ACOE accreditation
A certificate of attendance will be issued upon completion of:
- 75% of the online programme
- 100% attendance at the in-person Masterclass
- Completion of the evaluation questionnaire and learning assessment test for both parts
ESO College Credits
Participation in this masterclass grants eligibility to join the ESO College and allows existing members to earn 30 ESO College credits toward their progression.

Who Should Apply
Participation in the Masterclass is by competitive application only.
A maximum of 60 participants will be selected.
Applicants should meet the following ideal criteria:
- Aged up to 40 years
- 2–3 years’ experience in oncology, working with cancer patients
- Active involvement in clinical trials or scientific research
- Fluent in English
- Reside within ESO’s geographical reach: Europe, Mediterranean countries, or Latin America
Priority will also be given to candidates who have previously attended ESO’s Basic Principles of Oncology course and members of ESO’s College.

Selection Process
Applications are evaluated through a two-step process:
Automated Scoring: Some responses are assessed using a predefined scoring system to ensure fairness and consistency. Points are assigned based on your answers.
Committee Evaluation: Other sections, including your qualitative responses, are reviewed and scored by our selection committee.
This type of evaluation ensures a transparent and unbiased selection of top candidates for participation in this activity.
Before you start completing the online application form, please be sure you have all the requested files (CV, Recommendation letter, and Clinical Case template) ready to be uploaded to the system. Online applications will not be considered unless all the files are uploaded.
Selected participants will be notified in July 2026.
